    The Geneva launch of the Independent Commission on Multilateralism (ICM) took place on November 27th in the Palais de Nations, the UN headquarters in Geneva which used to be the seat of the League of Nations.

    The Independent Commission on Multilateralism (ICM) was launched officially in Vienna on November 25th. The event was held at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs and opened by Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz.
    It provided an opportunity for ICM Chairman Kevin Rudd to explain the objectives of the initiative to the diplomatic corps in Vienna and representatives of Vienna-based multilateral institutions.

    Kevin Rudd, former Prime Minister of Australia, will chair the newly launched Independent Commission on Multilateralism (ICM). The Commission will be co-chaired by Børge Brende, Foreign Minister of Norway, and John Baird, Foreign Minister of Canada.
    The Commission will be a comprehensive two year program, with the objective of identifying policy proposals to enhance the multilateral system’s ability to respond to existing and evolving global challenges.
